The recently introduced Raptee.HV T 30 is India’s first e-bike to feature a CCS2 charging port, which is typically found on 4-wheelers.
The Raptee.HV T 30 electric bike was launched yesterday in the market with a price tag of Rs 2.39 lakh. This bike stands out because it incorporates a CCS2 charging port, a feature typically found only in cars.
Although specific details about the bike’s motor output and battery capacity remain undisclosed by the manufacturer, they have shared insights into the expected performance of the T 30 in practical conditions. Raptee.HV has boasted of an impressive 200km+ IDC range, which realistically should deliver approximately 150km, facilitated by an IP67-rated battery pack ingeniously positioned within the bike’s lower chassis.
In terms of speed, the T 30 can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in less than 3.5 seconds, aligning it with performance metrics of motorcycles in the 250-300cc class, according to Raptee.HV. For context, the quarter-litre Suzuki V-Strom SX reaches 60kph in exactly 3.5 seconds, and the KTM 250 Duke, a notable swifter model, achieves it in 3.06 seconds.
Raptee.HV also highlights that the T 30 is the first motorcycle in India built using high-voltage technology, though it stops short of specifying the exact voltage level. However, markings on the bike indicate a 240-volt system. The use of a CCS2 charging port, predominantly associated with cars and one of the most common in the world, allows the T 30 to utilise nearly all car charging stations nationwide, enhancing its versatility.
Currently, there are few electric motorcycles in the market, placing the T 30 in a unique position. It is priced higher than the Matter Aera (Rs 1.74 lakh) and lower than the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 (Rs 2.99 lakh), carving out a niche for itself. The nearest electric competitor is the TVS X electric scooter, priced at Rs 2.50 lakh, which was released last August but has not yet made a notable appearance on the streets. When it comes to gasoline-powered counterparts, bikes comparable in price to the T 30 include the Harley-Davidson X440, Royal Enfield Guerilla 450, Triumph Speed 400, and the KTM 250 Duke.
