Raptee Energy, an electric vehicle startup based in Chennai, has produced its first production-ready motorcycle, marking a key development for both the company and the electric vehicle sector. This event signifies Raptee Energy’s evolution from a startup to an established EV brand, reflecting its commitment to innovative performance and sustainable practices.
Dinesh Arjun, CEO and Co-founder of Raptee expressed his excitement about this achievement, noting that the company has been dedicated to enhancing electric motorcycles for over four years. He highlighted that this new model is designed to be a superior alternative to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles and represents a culmination of the company’s efforts in innovation and sustainability.
Raptee Energy’s production facilities in Chennai are now fully operational, with the commercial launch of the motorcycles anticipated within this quarter. The first batch of motorcycles will undergo thorough testing and homologation processes, including ARAI certification and on-road safety checks, to meet high standards of quality and performance.
In an effort to enhance customer experience, Raptee plans to open a store at its Chennai facility, providing a detailed brand experience and showcasing the production process. Jayapradeep Vasudevan, Raptee’s CBO, outlined the company’s strategic plans for a robust distribution network, beginning in Chennai and eventually expanding nationwide. This strategy includes both online and physical sales channels, aiming to ensure broad accessibility and a satisfying customer journey.
The motorcycles feature a range of patented technologies and innovations, such as high-voltage drivetrain and advanced driver assistance systems, ensuring top performance and safety. The Chennai facility is equipped to produce up to 100,000 units annually, positioning Raptee to address the increasing demand for eco-friendly transport solutions.
