Rajeev Chauhan Named VP Of BYD India’s EV Division

BYD India has recently declared that Rajeev Chauhan will take over as Vice President of the Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, succeeding Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, who is retiring after a distinguished career spanning more than thirty years in the Indian automotive industry. Gopalakrishnan’s tenure was marked by his significant contributions to the establishment of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India.

Chauhan comes to the position with an impressive background, having accumulated over 25 years of experience in the automotive sector, including pivotal roles at Honda Cars India and Volvo Car India, among other prominent organizations. His expertise spans a variety of areas, including retail network expansion, enhancing customer experiences, spearheading electrification initiatives, overseeing direct sales, steering product development and customer service, and leading digital transformation efforts. His approach, which focuses heavily on customer satisfaction, has been instrumental in reshaping consumer interactions, expanding market presence, and establishing a profitable dealership network, all of which have significantly boosted the company’s profitability.

Chauhan has taken on a new role in spearheading BYD India’s initiatives in the electric passenger vehicle sector, aiming to enhance BYD’s commitment to sustainable technology and eco-friendly transportation solutions in India. Chauhan remarked on his appointment, expressing excitement about contributing to a sustainable and brighter future.
