Introduces Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs Initiatives for Female Students and Women Reentering Engineering
Quest Global has joined hands with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional association dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, to champion the cause of gender equality in engineering. This strategic partnership seeks to empower women in engineering through two impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs: Engineering Education for Underserved Girl Students and the Returning Women Engineers Program. It will generously finance both programs in a remarkable display of corporate commitment to social responsibility, affirming its dedication to supporting young girls from underserved backgrounds who aspire to pursue engineering careers and women seeking to re-enter the workforce. IEEE India will play a pivotal role in designing and executing the on-ground activities required to ensure the success of these initiatives.
Shelly Latimore, Head of Global Brand for Quest Global, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled about partnering with IEEE India. Through these initiatives, our goal is to actively contribute to the promotion of gender equality within the engineering profession. These efforts extend beyond traditional education and training, representing a significant step towards fostering sustainable societal development and aspiring to improve the world.”
Srikanth Chandrasekaran, Country Head of IEEE India Operations, also voiced his excitement about the collaboration, saying, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Quest Global for their commitment to empowering women in engineering. With this collaboration and our profound understanding and expertise, we are confident in our ability to create a more inclusive and diverse engineering landscape in India, together.”
Recognising the declining representation of women in the engineering sector, the Engineering Education for Girl Students program aims to inspire and encourage female students from underserved communities to pursue engineering courses. Simultaneously, the Returning Women Engineers Program is designed to provide comprehensive support to women looking to re-enter the workforce after a career hiatus. Acknowledging the challenges these women face during this transition, the program will offer skill training and equip them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources for a successful return to professional life.
The collaborative efforts of Quest Global and IEEE India underscore a shared commitment to fostering a more equitable and diverse future within the engineering sector. These initiatives are expected to benefit 475 women across various regions in India, including Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, and Pune. Together, they mark a significant stride towards achieving gender equality and promoting inclusivity in the world of engineering.
