Chipset maker Qualcomm has announced Snapdragon 720G, Snapdragon 662 and Snapdragon 460 chipsets in India. The 720G supports Qualcomm’s Elite gaming platform and they all come with AI capabilities. They do not offer 5G connectivity.
Rajen Vagadia, vice president and president, Qualcomm India said that while the company sees a fast adoption of 5G across geographies globally, it recognises the boost 4G has given towards supporting broadband connectivity for Indian consumers. He added that 4G will continue to remain a focus area for Qualcomm Technologies for regions like India a sit will stay as a key technology here for connectivity.
Support Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System
The Snapdragon 720G uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X15 LTE modem. The Snapdragon 662 and Snapdragon 460 use the X11 LTE modem. They support Qualcomm’s artificial intelligence (AI) engine for cameras and other software. The 720G supports the company’s Elite Gaming platform. The chipsets will also support Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (NAVIC).
