Punjab awards 251 MW of solar PV projects

Tuesday, June 18, 2013: Punjab has awarded 251 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, reporting higher bid prices than tenders in other states. According to RESolve Energy Consultants, the projects were bid at prices of Rs 7.20–8.74 per KWh, with a median bid of Rs 8.52 per KWh. These bids are much higher than solicitations in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, notes the consultancy firm.

The winning companies include Azure Urja Pvt Ltd (New Delhi), Asopus Infrastructure Ltd, Welspun Solar Punjab Pvt Ltd, Moserbaer Clean Energy Ltd and Essel Infraprojects Ltd.
