Hyderabad-based Premier Solar, an integrated end-to-end solar solutions provider, is going to open its 200 MW automated solar module manufacturing facility at Annaram Village in Sanga Reddy district of Telangana. The State Industries Minister K T Rama Rao will formally inaugurate the plant on Saturday. This facility will create over 500 jobs, both direct and indirect.
According to Telangana Today, Premier had earlier created a 175 MW capacity in its operations so far. The company has invested Rs 500 million in this plant to add 200 MW capacity and another plant that will make electric vehicles, taking the total investment to Rs 1 billion in Telangana until date. It plans to invest another Rs 4 billion adding 625 MW, taking the total capacity to 1 GW in next 4-5 years.
Surender Pal Singh, chairman, Premier Solar, said, the company is expanding its manufacturing capacity in the solar modules space. It currently has a capacity of 50 MW for Solar Cell and wants to create a capacity of 1 GW in next 4-5 years. For this, the company will set up an exclusive plant and is scouting for a location in Telangana, Gujarat and Odisha. The plan is to invest Rs 12 billion on this plant. In total, the company will make a fresh investment of 16 billion by 2021-22.
