PLG Clean Energy has said that it has won licenses to develop 230 MW of solar photo voltaic (PV) capacity in three states viz, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. The company got the contracts viz the central government’s reverse auction process and PLG Clean Energy will very soon start all three projects.
The first project is in Maharashtra which is of a 70 MW plant to be developed via a strategic partnership with Suzlon Energy. PLG will have 49 per cent share in the project and Suzlon will enjoy the rest 51 per cent. The completion date is set on April 2017 and a power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The other two projects are a 60 MW solar plant in Rajasthan which is to be completed by July 2017 and a 100 MW solar plant in Jharkhand to be completed by December 2017. In the Jharkhand project also Suzlon will hold 51 per cent partnership.
Apart from these three projects, the company is already working on 600 MW solar plants in various states and it plans to complete 1 GW of solar energy by March 2017.
