Excited to partner with Piera Systems to bring accurate air quality data to customers around the world: element14
Global distributor of electronic components, element14 recently signed a new distribution agreement with Piera Systems to sell its Intelligent Particle Sensor (IPS) family of particle sensors. The official release pointed out that they are highly sensitive optoelectronic particulate sensors that use photon counting readout technology. Piera claims to have independently certified its IPS sensors to detect the sub-micron particles to particulate matter (PM) .01 accurately compared to most other sensors that only provide estimates.
As the particles less than 1 micron in size are readily absorbed into the bloodstream, they are considered to be the most dangerous, with direct and substantial effects on human health, from loss of productivity to causing serious diseases.
Product Segment Leader of Global Sensors at element14, Sarah Priebe remarked, “The pandemic has put the focus squarely on indoor air quality and we are excited to partner with Piera to bring accurate air quality data to customers around the world. Our partnership with Piera will allow us to target and uncover new markets and applications because of the low cost and high accuracy of the IPS sensors.”
These sensors are being touted as compactly-designed versatile sensors with low power consumption. The partners stated that they are designed for easy integration, making them a viable option for extensive deployment in various environments including offices, hospitals and schools.
The CEO of Piera Systems, Vin Ratford commented: “This agreement with element14 represents a huge milestone in our journey to deliver more complete air quality solutions and better health outcomes. We are excited to leverage the global footprint of element14 in bringing this disruptive air quality technology to customers worldwide.”
element14, an Avnet company and global distributor of electronic components, products and solutions was founded in 1986. It aims to support design engineers by offering a range of products in its comprehensive semiconductor portfolio.
