Bringing more than three decades of experience to fuel innovation and new businesses in sustainable mobility, Ramachandra Puttanna joins Greaves Cotton as the new EV Business Head.
Last week, Greaves Cotton Limited appointed Ramachandra Puttanna as the new Business Head for EV Solutions and New Businesses within Greaves Retail. He will lead initiatives for the company’s electric vehicle (EV) components and new ventures in this role.
Ramachandra brings over 35 years of experience to Greaves Retail, having worked with organisations such as Fenner India, BOSCH India, Oman Trading, Magneti Marelli, and ZF Group. Before joining Greaves, he served as Vice President of the aftermarket business at ZF Group, overseeing operations across India and the SAARC regions.
A graduate of mechanical engineering from Mysore University, Ramachandra also holds a postgraduate diploma in business management (marketing) from Bangalore University and an advanced programme in Business Management from IIM Bangalore.
Commenting on his new role, he said, “At this pivotal stage in the company’s journey towards sustainable mobility, I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive the growth of Greaves Retail’s new businesses and enhance our offerings for a broader range of customers.”

Greaves Retail follows an asset-light model, offering sales, service, and spare parts for three-wheelers, two-wheelers, small commercial vehicles, electric vehicles, and construction equipment. The company focuses on maximising vehicle uptime and asset efficiency, ranking among the top three in the aftermarket sector.
