Significantly, Sanjay Behl, a key figure in the company, has chosen to step down from his role as CEO of Greaves Electric. The company has acknowledged that Behl has decided to explore personal interests beyond the organisation.
Greaves Electric has laid off employees in “double-digit” figures, and the company confirmed when asked if layoffs have happened. The exact figures of the lay offs could not be confirmed.
Double digit lay offs can mean 99 or 11 individuals as well. Various dealers in the know of the same said that approximately 100 employees have been laid off.

Given the dynamic nature of our environment, this entails organisational restructuring, including reassessing our skill set, redistributing resources to different businesses within our Group and potential employee transitions. Interestingly, Sanjay Behl has also stepped down from his position as CEO of the company. Greaves Electric noted that he “has opted to pursue personal interests outside the organisation.”
K Vijaya Kumar has been appointed as the new Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility. Kumar was earlier associated with SAR Electric Mobility as the company’s MD and CEO.
Previously, some dealers have alleged foul play against the brand. Some also alleged that Ampere Electric Vehicles and Greaves Electric Mobility are the same companies.
