Aiming to excel in AI infrastructure, robotics firm Bright Machines has named Chris Storiits as the new leader. His role as a CEO is set to transform electronics manufacturing amid industry challenges.
Bright Machines, an American automation service provider, has announced the appointment of Chris Stori as its new Chief Executive Officer last week. With this, the company looks to enter a new growth phase, focusing on delivering software-defined automation services for electronics manufacturing, particularly in response to the soaring demand for AI infrastructure.
Stori brings over 11 years of experience from Cisco and Meraki, where he held the role of Senior Vice President and General Manager. His leadership roles focused on business strategy and product management. Bright Machines hopes to benefit from his expertise in scaling complex organisations.
The company is currently going through a crucial period, seeking to leverage recent investments, including a $126 million Series C funding round led by BlackRock and supported by Nvidia and Microsoft. Under Stori’s guidance, Bright Machines aims to ace these projects.
Based in San Francisco, the company specialises in software and robotics for manufacturing, offering solutions that build AI infrastructure using computer vision and machine learning, enhancing product design and production. This approach provides speed, visibility, and flexibility in electronics manufacturing.
Bright Machines have further stated that the current landscape is challenging due to chip shortages, outdated infrastructure, labor shortages, and supply chain disruptions, all exacerbated by the increasing complexity of AI systems.
