Poised to drive growth across five locations in the booming local semiconductor market, Applied Materials has appointed Avinash Avula as Country President for India.
Semiconductor manufacturer Applied Materials has named Avinash Avula as the Country President of its Indian subsidiary. In this position, he will oversee the company’s business operations in India, which include five locations and teams focused on research and development (R&D), product development, IT, and operations.
Previously, Avula held several management positions at Applied Materials’ headquarters in Santa Clara, California. He has also directed business and technology development for advanced packaging in the company’s Singapore branch, where he played a crucial role in establishing the Advanced Packaging Development Centre in partnership with A*STAR.
“I am excited to welcome Avinash back to Applied Materials as we continue to expand our capabilities in India,” said Dr. Satheesh Kuppurao, Group Vice President of Business Development and Growth, Semiconductor Products Group at Applied Materials, noting that Avula’s expertise will lead the company’s next growth phase.
Before rejoining Applied, Avula spent over nine years at DuPont as Vice President and General Manager, overseeing various speciality materials divisions catering to the printed circuit board, assembly, semiconductor, and display sectors. Additionally, he worked as an operations consultant for several prominent semiconductor firms in the U.S.
