The lab offers a perfect solution to those students or individuals who cannot afford to invest in expensive equipment for execution of their projects
Friday, August 16, 2013: With the objective of promoting its brand name, PCB Power, a leading PCB player, has taken an innovative initiative of establishing a testing lab—Electronics Idea Lab—in Ahmedabad. Launched in July 2013, this state-of-the-art testing lab offers facilities for assembly, designing, PCB procurement, testing and component procurement—all under one roof. Targeted mainly at students, hobbyists, professionals and small R&D centres, this lab provides the complete infrastructure to carry out testing, supporting smooth execution of projects.
“The basic idea behind this lab is to approach students and others who cannot afford to invest in expensive equipment to execute their projects. Anyone who wants to use the lab to create a design, procure components or do testing, will find this lab perfect and affordable,” informs Sunil Pandita, vice president, PCB Power.
The lab also provides educational and training courses to students from schools and engineering colleges. It offers two to five days crash courses with a minimum fee of Rs 1500. Under the guidance and training of industry experts, the students get hands-on training on various equipment and kits, and can see a live demonstration of their projects.
With an inventory of about 1000 electronic kits for students and hobbyists, this lab provides walk-in-facility for PCB designing, besides PCB procurement facility. “We also support customers who want to procure components by delivering them within two to three days of the placement of the order,” adds Sunil Pandita.
This lab is the first in the series, and PCB Power is contemplating to establish more of such labs across the country through a franchise network. Informs Khushal Panchal, national sales manager, PCB Power, “In order to increase our presence across the country, we are planning to follow the franchise model. We are looking for partners who can promote our business.”
PCB Power has been manufacturing PCBs since 1996, offering reliability as a core competence globally through online services. The company has recently launched a table-top reflow oven and a stencil printer for surface mount components, which has been developed by PCB Power’s promoters.
