Monday, October 06, 2014: A new ambitious project is going to start soon in Bhopal and Jabalpur and as a part of this project new Information Technology (IT) Parks and Electronic Manufacturing Clusters are going to be set up in these two places. The project will cost Rs 1,700 million and it will be a huge source of job creation as around 50,000 direct as well as indirect employment are expected from this project.
As per an official press release, the IT park premises and the Cluster are expected to be set up at Barwai village opposite the New Jail in Bhopal. A nodal agency of the Information Technology Department of Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh Electronics Development Corporation, will be monitoring the project and around 212 acre land has been chosen for the entire project, among which 50 acre is dedicated for the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster. The project will be executed in two phases. In Jabalpur, the IT park and the Cluster will be set up at Purva with a capital investment of Rs 950 million. The Jabalpur project will be spread across 62 acre land and it’s also expected to create 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Among the 62 acre land in Purva, 22 acre will be dedicated for the EMC and this facility is expected to woo investors to a large extent through its world class infrastructure. The foundation for the Bhopal project will be laid by union minister for information technology and communication, Ravi Shankar Prasad, while Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be presiding the event today, 6 October, at 4 p.m. Among others, who are expected to attend the event are, Minister for Home and Jails Babulal Gaur, Minister for Panchayats and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava, Minister for Higher Education Umashankar Gupta, Minister for Information Technology Bhupendra Singh, Member of Parliament Alok Sanjar, Mayor Krishna Gaur, MLAs Shri Vishwas Sarang, Shri Surendranath Singh, Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Shri Vishnu Khatri and zila panchayat president Mina Goyal.
