Looking to boost future startups and research in the field of semiconductors, an Odisha college SOA has joined hands with Bengaluru-based Very Large Scale Integration Society of India.
Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), a private college in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has recently signed an MoU with the Very Large Scale Integration Society of India (VSI) in Bengaluru to foster research and talent to meet the evolving needs of the Indian semiconductor sector.
Besides research and development, this collaboration aims to support start-ups and create job opportunities in VLSI Design and semiconductors. VSI, with a network of over 5,000 semiconductor professionals and volunteers globally, represents the full semiconductor supply chain.
According to the agreement, VSI will partner with SOA to offer semiconductor industry collaboration, including techno-commercial mentorship, market access, industry connections, and seed funding. VSI and SOA will jointly organise workshops and training sessions for students and faculty at SOA and nearby institutions.
Additionally, VSI will utilise its network of industry volunteers to facilitate expert lectures, project opportunities, internships, and mentorship for SOA students at various academic levels.
The organisations will work together to develop and update the VLSI Design and Semiconductor curriculum to ensure it meets industry demands. VSI will also assist in implementing these programs and work with SOA to raise awareness among high school students and their families about careers in electronics and semiconductors, encouraging them to pursue engineering careers in these fields.
The MoU was signed by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda and VSI President Dr. Satya Gupta. No financial details were disclosed by any of the institutions.
