To bolster the development of AI cloud infrastructure in India, Nvidia begins supplying its latest AI chips to Indian partners, fostering global advancements in AI capabilities.
US-based AI chip manufacturer Nvidia is now providing its latest chips, GH200 AI, to its Indian partners, such as Tata Communications and Jio Platforms, to help develop AI cloud infrastructure in India.
This partnership, which began in September last year, Nvidia seeks to support the creation of AI-powered supercomputers, AI clouds, and generative AI applications. The aim is to accelerate the deployment of AI technologies across various sectors in India, a move that aligns with India’s Rs 10,732 crore initiative. The government has earmarked Rs 5,000 crore to create AI computing infrastructure in the country, with a target to make at least 10,000 GPUs available by March 2026.
The partnership with Nvidia is pivotal for Tata Communications and Jio Platforms as they build robust AI infrastructure. According to reports, Nvidia’s GH200 Grace Hopper platform, named after the esteemed computer scientist Grace Hopper, is at the forefront of this technological advancement. The platform, with its advanced architecture designed for AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and data analytics, is set to revolutionize the AI landscape in India.
