NueGo, the electric bus brand from GreenCell Mobility, has launched an ambitious and historic expedition, the Kashmir to Kanyakumari (E-K2K) electric bus journey. This initiative is a milestone not only for the company but also for sustainable transportation efforts in India. It positions NueGo to become the world’s first electric vehicle (EV) bus brand to achieve this record-breaking journey.
The expedition aims to cover more than 4,000 kilometers, traversing diverse terrains, from 3,500 feet above sea level in Kashmir to the southern coastline at Kanyakumari. Moreover, the journey emphasizes sustainable mass mobility in India by showcasing electric buses’ efficiency and long-range potential.
According to Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Government of India, Nitin Gadkari, the Kashmir to Kanyakumari (E-K2K) expedition by NueGo is not just a journey of distance but also a mission to promote sustainability, environmental consciousness, and cultural pride. The electric bus traverses over 200 cities and towns, symbolising India’s diverse cultural heritage while actively engaging with communities to spread the message of green mobility. The expedition will host interactive workshops to educate students about sustainability, EV technology, and the importance of eco-friendly practices. To leave a lasting impact, the team will conduct tree-planting campaigns in several cities, reinforcing the message of reforestation and climate action.
Through safety-themed street plays (Nukkad Natak), the team will creatively engage with locals to raise awareness about road safety and sustainable transport. Minister Gadkari stated that this journey exemplifies giving back to communities along the route, reinforcing that transportation innovation goes hand-in-hand with social responsibility.
Devendra Chawla, CEO and MD of GreenCell Mobility, also stressed the imperativeness of green mass mobility solutions for India, reinforcing the message behind NueGo’s ambitious Kashmir to Kanyakumari (E-K2K) expedition. He described the journey as a testament to the strength and capability of electric buses in navigating diverse terrains while promoting the broader vision of sustainable mobility. Chawla emphasized that passing through 200+ cities and towns, the journey reflects the richness of India’s heritage while carrying a message of clean and sustainable travel.
