Now you can experience the all-new Android 9 Pie features with an added focus on digital wellbeing with Nokia’s latest Nokia 7 Plus phones
Nokia has announced rolling out of Android 9 Pie on its latest Nokia 7 Plus series. This upgraded version focuses to boost AI-enabled, machine learning and digital wellbeing experiences.
Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global, the Nokia parent, said, “We constantly strive to deliver on our promise of offering pure, secure, up-to-date Android on Nokia smartphones. Today, we are extremely delighted to start the rollout of Android 9 Pie on Nokia 7 plus.” With this, Nokia has made it to the list of firsts to offer the latest innovation from Google, including Android One exclusive features such as App Notifications.
Key features of Android 9 Pie
Android 9 Pie offers app actions, slices, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness and new system navigation. App actions help getting things done faster by predicting the next move and displaying the right action on the phone.
Slices identify relevant information of one’s favourite apps to make them more easily accessible when needed. Adaptive battery uses deep learning to understand usage patterns and prioritise battery power on important apps.
Adaptive brightness automatically adapts phone brightness by learning from one’s interactions with different settings and the new system navigation features a single home button that provides intelligent predictions and suggestions (user enabled).
Nokia 7 Plus
Nokia 7 Plus has bagged the Expert Imaging and Sound Association’s (EISA) Consumer Smartphone of the Year tag. It runs on Android 9 Pie with no bloatware, skins user interface (UI) changes or hidden processes consuming the battery life.
Digital wellbeing feature
Its digital wellbeing features provide a dashboard that highlights screen time and phone usage including how many times device has been unlocked and the number of notifications received, app timers, allowing to set time limits on app usage. It also has a wind-down and do not disturb feature that allows users to set a daily schedule to get the phone ready for bed. The screen fades to Grayscale in wind down mode. The Do Not Disturb feature silences notifications for a restful sleep.
