Nokia Siemens to close Kolkata unit

Monday, June 17,2013: Nokia Siemens Networks India has informed the state government that it is closing its fixed line manufacturing facility in Kolkata from July 31. This decision was taken because the trend for fixed-line telephones in India in the last few years has gone down significantly, according Nokia Siemens press release. In Calcutta, there was a 98 per cent decline in the fixed lines business for Nokia Siemens.
