Saturday, January 3, 2015: The seventh edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit will be held soon. Keeping in the line with the upcoming summit, the state government of Gujarat announced a new industrial policy.
The new policy is focused on micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs. The new policy is based on PM Narendra Modi’s Make in India campaign and it is expected to take this initiative forward. The industrial policy will boost the innovation and technology sector.
The government released a statement and state finance minister Saurabh Patel expressed his views about the newly introduced policy in the statement. He said the state government has adopted a progressive policy. Gujarat already stands on the top when it comes to industrial development. GDP of Gujarat has seen a steady growth over 10 per cent between 2005 to 2013.
MSMEs are having a hub in the state of Gujarat and till 31 March, 2013, 261,760 MSME units have got registered in this state.
