A team from NEO Innovations, Hyderabad grabs the first prize in GR Peach Design Contest India 2016. Started off in July 2016, this innovative contest was organised by Renesas in association with EFY group. The grand finale of the event took place on 2nd March 2017 at The Leela Palace, Bengaluru.
The contest was judged by a panel of three judges- Akihiro Matsuyama, Sr Director, Renesas Electronics Japan, Mubeen Jukaku, Technology Head, Emertxe Technologies, Bengaluru, and Britto Edward Victor, Design Center Head, ROHM Semiconductor India, Bengaluru who announced the name of the winner and the two runner-ups.
The winning project ‘Mini Gateway For Automation And Security’ took home a prize money of ₹ 3,00,000. The first runner-up project ‘PEACHSAT’ and second runner-up project ‘IoT Based Vehicle Parameters Monitoring And Security System’ received prize money worth ₹ 175,000 and ₹100,000 respectively.
In addition to this, project ‘GR Peach Based Smart Health Monitoring With IoT’ from Marwadi Education Foundation, Rajkot and project ‘Smart Ration’ Impact TechnoLabz, Cochin picked a prize money of ₹25,000 and ₹15,000 respectively, in the category of ‘Lucky winner for timely submission and technical merit’.
The occasion was also graced by some of the the distinguished guests which include Daisuke Nakamura (MD, ROHM Semiconductor), Maaz Jukaku (MD, Emertxe Technologies) and Anil Challiyal (Head for Global Technical centre, Element14). Through this contest, Renesas encourages students, hobbyists, professional design engineers, academia and budding engineers to design and build innovative embedded systems.
This is third edition of Gadget Renesas(GR) Contests in India. In 2013, Sakura board was introduced followed by Kaede in 2015 and Peach in 2016. The community is growing. Mr. Matsuyama, Sr. Director of Gadget Renesas team, announced the launch of GR Lychee contest latter half of 2017.
