A national conference on e-governance in Kochi will dwell on the present state scenario and deal with gradual solution to meet the challenges in the field.
Friday, January 24, 2014: The two-day 17th national conference on e-governance will be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy on 30 January in Kochi. Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, V Narayanasamy will be the chief guest at the inaugural function and Minister of Industry and IT, Kerala, P K Kunhalikutty will preside over the same. Departments of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, and Department of IT, Kerala will be jointly hosting the event that aims to explore emerging opportunities and address new challenges in the field of e-governance. About 1,000 delegates are expected to participate in the event.
Prominent speakers including J Satyanarayana, Secretary, IT and Electronics; Krishna Giri, Managing Director, Health and Public Services, Accenture India; Sangita Reddy, Executive Director, Operations, Apollo Hospitals Group; Noshir Kaka, Managing Director, McKinsey India; R Chandrashekhar, President, and Krishnakumar Natarajan, Chairman, Nasscom; Debjani Ghosh, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, Intel South Asia; E K Bharat Bhushan, Chief Secretary, Kerala; K M Chandrashekar, Vice-Chairman, State Planning Board, Kerala; and P H Kurian Principal Secretary, Industries and IT, Kerala. Nikhil Kumar, Governor of Kerala, will deliver the closing address on January 31.
An exhibition is also planned wherein major IT users will display products, services and achievements in the field of e-governance. The exhibitors range from Akshaya, Infopark, Technopark to State Bank of Travancore, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation. Kerala State IT Mission is the main organising agency, while Nasscom is the knowledge partner.
