Thursday, October 09, 2014: Amset Energy system officials while promoting the conservation of energy for further consumption on Tuesday said that the micro small and medium enterprises sector (MSMEs) should emphasis more over reducing the energy costs required for manufacturing in order to maximize their profits. They even stated that this exercise would also result in benefit of environment.
During the lecture on ‘Energy Saving- A low hanging fruit for SMEs’ which was organised by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry, S Kannan, managing director, Amset Energy Systems said that owing to the huge energy consumption during lengthy supply chain process, there is a need to alter the machine efficiency in the factory.
He further highlighted that by managing the energy costs, the companies will be able to develop better idea over what can be done to increase the profitability. He added, “As of now, consumption is higher than actual capacity. The MSME sector should focus on bringing this consumption in line with how much we can afford to use.” While winding the event, chairman, Energy Committee, FKCCI, said that collective efforts of companies, the policy makers and governments would help in efficient use of energy.
