Friday, December 27, 2013: The major issues relating to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector as highlighted in the XIIth Five Year Plan document focus on the problems faced by the sector in the areas of Credit & Finance, Technology Upgradation, Marketing Assistance, Infrastructural Support, Skill Development and Institutional Structure. An amount of Rs.24,124.00 crore have been allocated to the Ministry of MSME during the XIIth Five Year Plan to implement various schemes and programmes for the development of the sector.
Planning Commission reviews the progress of implementation of various schemes of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises during annual plan discussions. Beside, Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry also reviews the performance of the various schemes during the meeting/ discussions on Demands for Grants.
