The new TicWatch C2 comes in black, platinum and rose gold. The watch is available for preorder now, and it’s set to launch on December 6
Chinese AI company Mobvoi has launched a sequel to its 2016 TicWatch, which first launched on Kickstarter, and also unveiled a cheaper take on Apple’s AirPods.
The new TicWatch C2 was released at a London event and is priced at $199.99.
Unlike its earlier watches, the updated C2 is powered by Google’s Wear OS. Mobvoi’s first watches ran on its own Android-based operating system and its own voice assistant software.
The updated C2 is equipped with NFC to support Google Pay and it also has a longer battery life of around two days and an IP68 waterproof rating.
It comes in black, platinum and rose gold. The watch is available for preorder now, and it’s set to launch on December 6.
The C2’s design is a lot slimmer than the dual-screen TicWatch Pro. Its stainless steel case paired with leather straps highlight a classic watch design.
Mobvoi also announced TicPods Free, its take on Apple’s wireless AirPods. Available in red, white and blue, they are retailing for $129.99 now. The earbuds have already raised over $2.8 million from Indiegogo.
They’re compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, as well as Android and the iPhone. Battery life is about 18 hours, and a 15-minute charge can last for about 85 minutes of listening time. They also include gesture-based controls beyond the Apple-style taps for skipping music, etc.
