According to a report by Indo-Asian news service, Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek will launch its 5G chipset at a company event on 26th November. According to media reports, among the processors the company is expected to showcase at the event, the MediaTek Helio M70 5G chipset is the most anticipated one. The company is competing with other big chipset makers like Qualcomm and Huawei with the November launch.
Sub-6GHz frequency
The company was previously focussed on gaming and had launched a gaming-focussed chip, MediaTek G90 recently. As per reports, the Helio M70 5G modem has already been prepped up. The modem utilizes the sub-6GHz frequency to deliver 5G connectivity. The company will make the chipset available for commercial use from the first quarter of 2020. It is speculated that the M70 chipset will be used in the Redmi K30. Which will be launched soon.
