As India targets a US$63 billion semicon market, chip designer Marvell spotlights the country’s rise ahead of the 38th VLSI Design Conference, showcasing AI’s impact and startup opportunities.
Ahead of the 38th VLSI Design Conference next month in Bengaluru, semiconductor designer Marvell Technology has emphasised India’s growing significance in the semiconductor sector. As the conference’s sponsor, Marvell’s Country Manager for India, Navin Bishnoi, highlighted the event’s importance, attracting over 2000 industry professionals annually.
Claiming to be India’s largest engineering event, the conference will showcase advancements in chip design, research, and innovation. The five-day programme includes tutorials for students and early-career professionals and three days of technical sessions, keynote speeches, and panel discussions.
It will also feature prominent speakers such as Noam Mizrahi, EVP and Corporate CTO at Marvell, who will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on the semiconductor industry.
Sandeep Bharathi, Chief Development Officer at Marvell, will join a discussion on developing India’s semiconductor ecosystem alongside leaders from companies like Microchip, NXP, Synopsys, Siemens, and Qualcomm.
The conference has placed a strong emphasis on fostering innovation, particularly within Indian startups, with a dedicated forum for startups to pitch their ideas to venture capitalists and experts. A focus will also be on artificial intelligence’s role in driving advancements in infrastructure as India expands its data centre capabilities.
Bishnoi noted the ongoing collaboration between academia, industry, and government under the India Semiconductor Mission, which supports research across 12 focus areas. The mission aims to address challenges in semiconductor technologies and contribute to India’s long-term industrial strategy.
