The AG365 serves multiple purposes including pesticide application, and can lead to a 92% reduction in water usage.
Marut Drones, a leading Indian drone technology company, in collaboration with Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU), has been granted a utility patent for an innovative direct seeding drone, valid for 20 years starting November 29, 2021. This is for a multi-nozzle aerial seed dispensing device for efficient and precise rice seeding. The technology has been scientifically validated by PJTSAU, offering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for its use.
The technology has the potential to reduce manual labor and promote sustainable rice cultivation. The direct seeding drone, branded AG365, also serves multiple purposes, including pesticide application, and can lead to a 92% reduction in water usage.
Marut Drones has conducted extensive trials across five states in India, aiming to seed 1 million hectares of land by 2030. The company is also focused on training programs for farmers, rural youth, and agricultural stakeholders to foster widespread adoption of direct seeding using drones.
With an ambitious goal to seed 1 million hectares of land by 2030, Marut Drones aims to address the looming challenges in rice production that threaten food security and economic stability.
Marut Drones has delivered two DGCA certified multi-utility agricultural drones, AG365, to PJTSAU. These drones, inaugurated by Shri Thummala Nageswara Rao, the Agriculture Minister of Telangana, at Agritech South 2024, will enhance agricultural practices and research initiatives within the university and be used for training programs conducted by the PJTSAU Drone Academy for rural youth, self-help groups (SHGs), and agricultural graduates.
The Telangana government supports drone technology exploration in agriculture, and Marut Drones aims to revolutionize farming practices and generate economic and employment opportunities in the region.
