Marelli, a leading global automotive technology firm, has named Saju Mookken as India’s new country manager. In this capacity, Mookken will head the company’s strategic initiatives and expansion in the Indian market.
Bringing over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, Mookken has been a part of Marelli for nearly two decades, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s foothold in India. He will also maintain his duties as the Regional Head of Propulsion Solutions for Asia-Pacific (excluding China).
Prior to his tenure at Marelli, Mookken held a board position at a Denso Group company, managing Finance, IT, Commercial & Sales, and Purchasing departments. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University and is a certified chartered accountant.
Ravi Tallapragada, the former India Country Manager, will now concentrate fully on his role as President of Marelli’s global Electronic Systems business, reflecting the company’s focus on the increasing relevance of Software-Defined Vehicles.
Marelli, renowned for its innovative and technologically advanced automotive solutions, operates globally, supplying systems and components in areas such as powertrain, electronics, and lighting. A principal competitor to Marelli is Bosch, a prominent global automotive supplier with a comprehensive range of solutions, including powertrain systems, advanced driver assistance, and infotainment technologies. Bosch is similarly committed to advancing mobility, particularly through electrification, automation, and digitalization. Its robust R&D capabilities, diverse product offerings, and solid relationships with automakers establish Bosch as a formidable player in the market.
Both Marelli and Bosch are engaged in a competitive, technologically intense sector where ongoing innovation and responsiveness to new trends are critical. Their rivalry underscores the industry-wide shift toward sustainable, connected, and autonomous mobility solutions, catering to the changing demands of automakers and consumers alike.
