Mahindra Electric has appointed Suman Mishra as the Chief Executive of Mahindra Electric and Chief Executive Designate of Last Mile Mobility business after current CEO and MD Mahesh Babu decided to quit in order to pursue interests outside the company.
Mishra, who earlier held the position of Senior VP of Business Transformation, Insight and Analytics, Automotive Sector, will take over the new role with effect from August 14. She will be reporting to Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.
Mishra is a Performance Transformation Expert with 20 years of experience in strategy and end-to-end performance transformation across sales, manufacturing, products, costs and purchasing and supply chain.
Prior to joining Mahindra, Mishra led performance transformation and business turnaround across multiple brands. She holds an MBA degree from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, and a Computer Engineer from NTU Singapore.
Jejurikar stated that Suman is an accomplished business leader with global experience in leading transformation projects across multiple sectors.
He said electric mobility is a key focus area for Mahindra, and the company has put in place a robust strategy to capitalize on opportunities in Last-Mile Mobility and the launch of its Born EV platform.
Mahindra & Mahindra had consolidated Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited as a step-down subsidiary into the company earlier in March 2021.
