Magenta Power flags off its second electric vehicle charging station on the Mumbai-Pune Highway stretch.
Renewable energy solution provider Magenta Power launches its electric vehicle Chargein platform with the inauguration of its second charging station on Mumbai-Pune expressway that will enable EV users to take long intercity routes via highway.
The company has installed a series of interconnected EV charging stations for two, three and four wheelers vehicles and buses, under this initiative.
In a recent interaction with ETAuto, Maxson Lewis, CEO of Magenta Power told that the company is planning to install 5 EV charging stations on the Mumbai-Pune highway, each at a distance of 60 km. The charging station at Mumbai end is already operational and the second one at Lonavala will be inaugurated today. Gradually in the coming months Magenta Power is going to bring the remaining charging stations on the network. He further informed that out of these 5 charging stations, the company is positioning three of them to be solar powered.
The charging is free of cost from the stations of this platform till October this year. He also highlighted his plan to announce the Chargein platform technology to be open source in the same month.
Lewis stated that in terms of hardware, branding and network the company has invested around Rs 30 to 40 lakhs. He said that any type of EV users can take advantage of this platform as all of the charging stations of under Chargein platform are standardised and come with both AC and DC charging methods.
After the covering the Mumbai-Pune stretch, Magenta Power is aiming for Pune-Bengaluru and Bengaluru-Mysore highway.
