Magenta Mobility Expands 4-Wheeler EV Cargo Fleet For Intercity And Interstate Logistics

Magenta Mobility, now operating over 500 four-wheeler electric cargo vehicles, is expanding its reach to cover intercity and interstate logistics routes.

Magenta Mobility has recently established itself as one of India’s largest four-wheeler electric cargo fleet operators, now managing a fleet exceeding 500 vehicles. This development comes as the company broadens its focus beyond the three-wheeler electric vehicle segment, where it has already secured major clients and operated primarily on urban routes. By moving into the four-wheeler category, Magenta Mobility aims to meet growing demands for more extensive and efficient electric logistics solutions.

The company has begun deploying its electric four-wheeler fleet on intercity and interstate routes, including corridors such as Rajasthan-Haryana-Delhi and Delhi-Haryana-UP, as well as the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai route. These services cover distances of over 140 to more than 400 kilometres, demonstrating that electric vehicles can operate effectively at scales previously dominated by conventional fuel-based transport. According to the company, its four-wheeler vehicles achieve a range of approximately 150 kilometres per charge, compared to the 100-120 kilometre ranges typical of earlier electric cargo vehicles. Initial trials have indicated that a longer operational radius may help reduce both emissions and fuel costs.

Looking ahead, Magenta Mobility plans to add another 10,000 electric vehicles over the next financial year, encompassing both three-wheelers and four-wheelers, as it expands its network to additional cities, including Nashik, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Indore, and Kolkata. These moves appear to be part of a broader strategy to diversify service routes and strengthen the company’s position in the evolving electric mobility landscape.

By increasing the number and range of its electric vehicles, Magenta Mobility is entering a more competitive and shifting market for sustainable transportation. Its presence across multiple vehicle categories and varying distances suggests an effort to solidify its role as an integral part of India’s changing logistics environment, where efficiency, reduced emissions, and wider geographic coverage are becoming increasingly significant factors.
