The Azure OpenAI-enabled Copilot, designed for quick root cause diagnosis and efficient repairs, seeks to optimize returns for all involved in the automotive aftersales sector.
Pune’s KPIT has collaborated with Microsoft to launch a Copilot, powered by Azure OpenAI Service, to revolutionize automotive repair and maintenance. This Copilot is developed on KPIT’s Trace2Fix. This platform effectively tackles customer retention and dealership profitability issues, which often arise from complex vehicle systems and a global shortage of skilled service technicians.
KPIT’s solution promises substantial benefits for all participants in the automotive aftersales network:
- For OEM service, it minimizes warranty claims with no trouble found (NTF) and fosters customer loyalty through precise, first-time repairs, eliminating repeat visits for the same issue.
- At dealerships, it enhances service efficiency, cuts down repair times, and boosts rates of repairs completed correctly on the first visit.
- For technicians, it provides smart, easy-to-follow guidance, allowing quicker and more accurate diagnosis and repairs, thereby increasing productivity and improving their workday.
Dominik Wee, Corporate Vice-President for Manufacturing and Mobility at Microsoft, highlights that integrating Trace2Fix with Microsoft’s Azure AI, including Azure OpenAI Service and Azure Speech, brings significant advantages to automotive OEM repair and maintenance firms. It enhances operational efficiency and first-time-fix rates, leading to increased profitability and customer satisfaction. This integration allows for fast, accurate issue diagnosis, part orders, and repair scheduling, which improves efficiency and job satisfaction for technicians.
Pushpahas Joshi, Executive Vice-President and Board Member at KPIT Technologies, comments that KPIT has been pivotal in transforming the aftersales process for vehicle OEMs. With innovative tools, KPIT has helped standardize vehicle diagnostics data exchange formats and boosted First Time Repair ratios by at least 30 per cent. Their team has utilized advanced analytics to pinpoint ‘Most Probable Causes,’ thereby enhancing technician productivity. The partnership with Microsoft is set to further value OEM clients by significantly improving the After-sales Service experience, especially for EV owners. It’s expected to enhance technician productivity by over 35% through the use of Generative AI, offering more intelligent diagnostics and an improved user experience.
