Friday, April 25, 2014: The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) of India has announced the re-appointment of Kamal Vachani as regional director of the middle east region for the 15th consecutive year. ESC stated that the re-appointment has happened as an appreciation to Vachani’s efforts in boosting exports to the region.
It is worth mentioning here that he has been representing the ESC in the middle east region since 1999. According to the official statetment, Vinod Sharma, chairman, ESC, “The ESC is very much satisfied with the efforts of Kamal Vachani in promoting India’s electronics and IT products to the Middle East. Vachani has been actively sponsoring IT delegations’ visits to the region. He also extends his sincere support to Indian companies for participation in trade shows in the region.”
“The Middle East is one of the important markets and has great potential for growth. We believe Indian electronics and its related services’ exports to the Middle East will be double in the next two years,” Sharma added.
The recent data reveals that computer hardware exports from the country to the middle east region has increased more than three-fold during the last five years. Infact, the market is ranked top in terms of India’s computer hardware exports destination in fiscal year 2012-13, said DK Sareen, executive director of ESC.
