Reliance will introduce AI not just as a vertical but horizontally in all sectors.
Reliance Jio Infocomm, India’s leading telecom service provider, is collaborating with the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay to develop ‘Bharat GPT’, a language model specifically designed for India, announced Akash Ambani, the chairman, at the IIT’s annual Techfest in Mumbai.
Jio aims to integrate AI in its business operations and throughout its various sectors. Ambani emphasized that the future decade will be shaped by large language models and generative AI. The company’s goal is to implement AI not just as a specific department within our company, but also across all our business areas.
“AI will consume everything. To me, yes AI stands for artificial intelligence, but it also stands for all included” he said.
On the hardware front, Ambani revealed plans for launching new products and services in media, commerce, communication, and devices. The telecom company, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, plans to introduce its own operating system for televisions. The company has been working on their TV operating system for a while and are thoroughly considering its launch.
Ambani mentioned ongoing efforts towards the vision of ‘Jio 2.0’, without providing detailed information. He expressed enthusiasm about Jio’s upcoming offerings in 5G private networks and confirmed that Jio will provide a 5G solution to all businesses, regardless of their size. Ambani believes India to be the biggest innovation center for the coming decade helping India to become $ 6 trillion economy by 2030.
