Mitzuki Corporation Ltd, a Japanese company has set its eye on entering the Indian market by introducing its range of solar-powered products. The company, which is part of the UAE-based Legend Group, will launch solar water heater, heat pump, solar inverter, solar lights, security cameras and other home security products in the country over the next couple of months.
“Apart from our research and development wing in Japan, we have three design and production bases in Malaysia, Taiwan and China. However, we are planning to invest Rs 3 billion to set up a production facility in Pune,” said Joji Mathew, managing director of Mitzuki was quoted as saying.
Initially, the company will sell the products manufactured in its Chinese and Malaysian plants. “At a later stage we will shift to the products from the Pune plant,” he added.
Japanese firms are eyeing the solar potential in India and the country is very much part of the solar power initiative. Earlier this year, major companies like Sharp, Kyocera, Toshiba and Kawasaki Heavy Machinery visited the country looking to form alliances with India-based solar firms.
The companies have been welcomed with open arms by the government and the expertise that these brand offer will bode well for the growth of domestic industry.
