Thursday, September 12, 2013: On Wednesday, Jackson Power Solutions Ltd., the Noida-based firm launched India’s first mobile solar power generator sets along with solar water purifiers. This firm has set the target of earning Rs 2 billion (Rs 200 crore) revenue from the new products that have been launched in the coming three years.
The upgraded manufacturing facility has a capacity of manufacturing 5,000 units annually in Greater Noida. The company invested around Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crore) towards the expansion of the facility. In the last financial year, the turnover of the company was Rs 13.5 billion (Rs 1,350 crore).
Revenue from the sales of diesed generator amounted to Rs 10 billion (Rs 1,000 crore) and solar segment contributed Rs 600 million (Rs 60 crore). Currently, Jackson installed solar power generation capacity of 20 MW in Rajasthan. In addition to it, a 10 MW is being installed in the Uttar Pradesh.
“We will set up a new dealers and distribution network to market the new products to customers demanding mobile generators, typically in the defense and telecom sectors. Also, we are planning to export the products to Africa, West Asia and South-East Asian nations,” Business Standard quoted joint managing director, Sundeep Gupta.
“Our overall revenue will increase to Rs 25 billion (Rs 2,500 crore) by end 2016. Around Rs 5 billion (Rs 500 crore) will come from the solar segment including Rs 2 billion (Rs 200 crore) from the new segments,” Gupta added.
Moreover, the firm is aiming to spend Rs 8 billion (Rs 800 crore) in installing solar projects with the capacity of 100 MW by the year 2016.
