Jakson Group, a leader in diesel power generation and management recently announced its foray into the solar power sector as an IPP. The group has won two projects of 10 MW each under in Batch-I Phase-II allocation by National Vidyut Vyapaar Nigam (NVVN) under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) of MNRE.
Speaking about the major achievement, Sundeep Gupta, joint managing director, Jakson Group, said: “We are convinced that grid parity would soon be maintained by using Renewable Energy and Solar Power will have a major role to play in long term and sustainable economic growth of this Country. With this first major breakthrough for Jakson, we have demonstrative that power tariffs using Solar are quite lucrative and competitive.”
Adding to this Sudershan Gupta, VP-Projects said: “it is the first step in the series of initiatives planned by Jakson to harness solar energy to help address growing power needs of India and provide a clean renewable source of energy. We also have plans for providing EPC contracting services to other Developers and to establish manufacturing facilities for solar power generation equipment”.
Jakson has entered into a long term 25 years electricity sale agreement with NVVN to feed electricity for the grid. The power generating facility located in Rajasthan will be a large-scale project supplying stable supply of power to the grid.
In addition to this, Jakson has actively ventured into EPC in turnkey solutions for PV Power Plants in a big way. The range of services will include project development support, design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of PV plants as well as service, monitoring and maintenance.
