IAI has been actively involved in India across various domains, including advanced radars and airborne warning and control systems for the Indian Air Force.
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled an exciting new initiative, the IAI Neusphere innovation acceleration program, designed to empower Indian start-ups. This program is key to IAI’s strategy to foster deeper technological collaboration between Israel and India, especially in groundbreaking sectors.
Targeting ten vital technology sectors, IAI Neusphere will concentrate on areas like Big Data, Signal & Image Processing, Advanced Navigation, AI & Autonomy, XR-Maintenance & Training, Green Energy, Advanced Production, Quantum, Edge Computing, and HMI & Wearable Tech. Avital Schrift, IAI’s Vice President for Core Technologies, shared the ambitious vision for the program: to onboard at least five start-ups every eight months, ultimately aiming to nurture around 20 innovative start-ups over the next two years.
Founded in 1953, IAI is one of Israel’s largest technology employers, providing state-of-the-art solutions for defense and commercial markets in space, air, land, naval, cyber, and homeland security.
Outside Israel, the group strategically concentrates on innovation initiatives in the United States and India. Start-ups participating in the program will benefit from significant financial support, with each venture eligible for up to $300,000 in funding. Moreover, selected start-ups will compete for a cash prize of $15,000, adding to the incentive.
The first cohort will include three start-ups, with ambitions to grow to 20 by 2025. Applications for the inaugural cohort will open in late 2024, inviting innovative minds to join this transformative journey. IAI is committed to leveraging its vast expertise and resources to empower Indian start-ups to develop cutting-edge technologies. The program will foster collaboration between these emerging businesses and IAI’s top-tier engineering teams, driving the creation of groundbreaking solutions.
Earlier this year, IAI solidified its commitment by signing a CSR agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi) to collaborate on applied research initiatives. IAI has been actively involved in India across various domains, including advanced radars, airborne warning and control systems for the Indian Air Force, and coastal defense innovations.
