Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) has launched three courses on its online education platform IPC EDGE, to support growth and development opportunities of electronics industry professionals.
The courses will be delivered by industry experts and will provide the participants with a flexible and interactive learning experience.
Senior director of education development at IPC, Carlos Plaza, said, “These courses have been meticulously designed to address the evolving needs of industry professionals, equipping them with the skills and expertise required to excel in their careers.”
The three courses cover challenges and solutions for lead-free production, high-density interconnect (HDI) technology and fundamentals of printed circuit board (PCB) design.
The course on lead-free production is developed by Dr Jennie Hwang for manufacturers, engineers, and quality assurance personnel seeking to enhance their understanding of lead-free assembly processes, minimise defects, and optimise production efficiency.
The HDI technology course is developed by Mike Carano for design engineers, manufacturing professionals, and technology enthusiasts. In the PCB design course, Fil Arzola instructs participants on industry-standard software and teaches best practices for designing efficient and reliable PCB layouts. The course is designed for novice designers as well as experienced professionals seeking to refresh their skills.
The courses will allow the participants to network and collaborate with fellow professionals and experts in the field.
IPC was founded in 1957 to develop industry standards and provide technical information to improve the manufacturing and reliability of PCBs. Over time, IPC expanded its scope beyond printed circuits to include other areas of electronics manufacturing, such as electronic assembly, wire harnesses, and surface mount technology. It develops and publishes numerous industry standards, offers training and certification programs, organizes industry events, and advocates for the interests of the electronics industry at the global level.
