Wednesday, October 02, 2013: Intex, on Monday (30 September), announced that it will be taking its first steps into the security and surveillance market. The company is introducing a range of CCTV cameras, and digital video recorders (DVR), which are specifically meant for the enterprise-driven customers.
The products developed by Intel will reportedly be available through Intex’s exclusive IT channel partners in Northern India. In addition, Intex also plans to expand its network in the industry by adding more distributors and through training.
The Indian security and surveillance industry has seen a substantial boost recently, as a result of the rise in the security concerns of various private enterprises. According to reports, the security and surveillance industry in India is currently worth Rs 1,100 crore and should be rising to double that by the year 2015.
The CCTV cameras made by Intex are fitted with the Sony Super HAD-II CCD Sensor or the DIS/HDIS Sensor. Further, both Dome and Bullet cameras are available with 480 – 700 TVL. The cameras have an effective range of 30 metres maximum, plus they are waterproof and dust proof.
In the DVR range, the company has five models on offer. These include the Intex 960H, D1, CIF recording resolution formats and Pentaplex operation. The DVRs can store a maximum of 2 TB of data.
