Thursday, June 27, 2013: At a launch event organised in New Delhi, Intel today introduced its 4th Generation Intel Core Processor in India. The processor codenamed as ‘Haswell’ was boasted by the chip manufacturer as the foundation of the newest 2-in-1 (hybrid) devices.
The Leighton Phillips, the Director Product Management and Pricing, Intel Asia Pacific introduced the chip features stating that the processor is the highest performing member of the Intel’s processor family that delivers 15 per cent better performance than its previous siblings. The new processor is said to consume less power, perform longer battery life and supports creative form factors.
Intel shared that the 4th gen Intel core processors are the first ones to come with a system-on-a-chip for PC which is the reason why you can now experience new 2-in-1 form factors, it enables 50 per cent improved battery life and it comes with Intel Iris graphic which doubles up the graphic performance.
In the second session, Debjani Ghosh, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing Group, Intel South Asia mentioned how the introduction of ‘perpetual computing’ Intel now enables people to interact with their computers using gestures, expression and normal day to day human languages. On the same note, Abhinav Aggarwal, from True Tech technologies, show cased their amazing the Fluid Motion Gesture Control technology based on Haswell.
Also present to support the launch of the new processor family were S. Rajendran, CMO, Acer India Pvt. Ltd; Shishir Singh, Director EUC Marketing, Dell India; Vinay Awasthi Sr. Director, PC Category, HP India and Shailendra Katyal- Director, Consumer business, Lenovo India.
The four representatives of the biggest tablet and pc manufacturers also shared their plans on the upcoming Haswell gadets.
