Aiming to advance open automotive vehicle standards and support industry transformation, Karma Automotive will integrate Intel Automotive solutions for its vehicle platform.
Karma Automotive, a California-based electric vehicle manufacturer owned by a Chinese company, is set to incorporate Intel Automotive solutions throughout its vehicle platform.
The collaboration with Intel Automotive focuses on co-developing software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture, which will feature prominently in Karma’s forthcoming models, including the Karma Kaveya, scheduled for release in 2026.
Additionally, Karma and Intel will work together to demonstrate critical concepts for advancing open standards in SDV technology. These standards are intended to be shared openly and commercially, facilitating broader industry transformation and innovation.
Marques McCammon, President of Karma Automotive, stated that this venture aims to support Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs hesitant to transition from traditional methods to new technologies.
He further explained that the company will act as an ally, assisting with business-to-business SDV solutions similar to how they currently offer services through Karma Connect. One of the world’s top OEMs already uses this proprietary platform for vehicle data management and over-the-air services.
Jack Weast, Intel Fellow, Vice President, and General Manager of Intel Automotive, noted that Intel Automotive recognises the automotive industry is experiencing a significant period of change. He stated that Intel has previously helped other industries navigate similar transformations and expressed its honour in supporting the automotive sector through these changes.
