Also bags 5.5MW EPC order from Essel Infra in Karnataka

rayspowerinfraFriday, April 12, 2014:Continuing with its aggressive expansion spree, Rays Power Infra has set up its second solar park in the state of Andhra Pradesh just 100 km from Hyderabad city. The solar park is spread over a vast area of 125 acres and will generate approximately 15.5 lakh units per annum per MW of installed capacity. The total capacity envisaged is 25 MW. The solar park will offer clients world-class facilities and ready-to-use infrastructure such as boundary-wall, approach roads and pooling substation to develop solar power plants of any capacity from 1 MW onwards. Since the land and requisite infrastructure is already in place, it will reduce the time and effort required to setup a solar project. Approximately 50% of the park’s capacity had already been booked prior to the launch—a testimony to the company’s track record.

In a bid to revolutionize the solar power sector, Rays Power Infra, the largest private solar park owner in the country also announces completion of its second solar park in the country and first in Andhra Pradesh (just 100 km from Hyderabad Airport). Rays Power Infra has successfully completed the first solar park in Rajasthan.

In yet another development that underlines the rapid growth of the company, Ray Power Infra also bagged the EPC Contract for solar project of 5.5MW from Essel infra (Zee TV group) in Karnataka. The company has so far commissioned a total of 45 MW of solar power plants and is executing another 40 MW in 2014-15.Needless to say, its impeccable track record has helped the company foray intothe Southern India market.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Ketan Mehta, Director Operations at Rays Power Infra Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are extremely proud of our new venture in Andhra Pradesh. Soon all the MNC offices, banks, industries, Star Hotels will use Solar power from our parks. Investors are very keen as it offers a fixed and year on year increasing revenue for 25 years like a tax free pension and the best part is the operational costs are negligible. Investors are seeing this as a better option than real estate investment. We are confident this would help us establish our presence in Andhra Pradesh market, and from there make significant inroads into Southern India.”

The solar park will have a world-class facility for power evacuation arrangement from pooling and a 132KV/33KV transmission line to the discom’s substation. The power can either be sold to the government at a fixed rate for 25 years or to large industrial customers/ offices etc. at a escalating rate. One such transaction is already completed where solar power is being sold to one of the largest banks in the world at around Rs 7 per unit (name can’t be disclosed due to a confidentiality clause) who have taken a global mandate to power their offices with solar power.

Among other benefits, the solar park will allocate proper north-south oriented plots which isnot only ideal for solar plant design but also reduces land wastage. More importantly; clear land title ensures relief from local issues which again leads to significant savings during project execution.
