Friday, September 20, 2013: As per the recently published TechSci Research report ‘India UPS Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2018,’ the Indian UPS market revenue is supposed to grow at the CAGR of almost 12 per cent during the year 2013-18. The report states that major revenue of the Indian UPS market is garnered by three leading companies – Emerson, APC and Novateur.
The report is meant for analysing the developments and the trends in the Indian UPS market. The report pointed out that global players in the past few years have realized the opportunity in the Indian UPS market and therefore, global giants have acquired many domestic UPS manufacturers.
This is obvious by the entry of CyberPower from Taiwan in the Indian UPS market, which has acquired post-sales service assets of Hita Technologies.
The company aims to target nearly 25 per cent market share within the first year of its entry. It has presence in over 50 countries across the globe. Since, India is a power deficit nation hence, it has a huge market for power backup products, the report says. UPS is very critical as a power backup device given the fact that every organization in India utilizes computers in order to ease workflows.
Apart from this, the country has registered around 12,000MW of power deficit in the financial year 2012-13 because of coal and gas scarcity coupled with less amount of rain.
