The new and renewable energy ministry has recently announced its R&D roadmap for the national green hydrogen mission. The ministry has set a plan of Rs 400 crore towards developing a research ecosystem that can commercialise green hydrogen.
The roadmap highlights the growth of materials, technologies, and infrastructure that can enhance the efficiency, reliability, and effectiveness of green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation.
The announcement was made at an event organized by the Ministry of new & renewable energy and the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited on the eve of World Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day.
World Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day is a worldwide celebration highlighting the promise of hydrogen as a clean energy source and the versatility of fuel cell technology. It emphasizes hydrogen’s vital role in tackling climate change, enhancing energy security, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, R. K. Singh, emphasised in a video message the need to reaffirm our dedication to advancing hydrogen solutions through research, development, and deployment. Together, we can make hydrogen a fundamental element of a sustainable future for our planet.
