January 27, 2015: India and US have inked a joint declaration for cooperation in information and communications technology and electronics (ICTE). The declaration was signed between RS Sharma, secretary, Department of Electronics and IT (India) and the US ambassador to India Richard Verma.
Under the declaration, inked for a period of five years, the two countries will partner in the various fields of IT and electronic including Digital India programme, manufacturing, cyber security and others.
The declaration will help strengthen the industrial, technological, research and innovation and economic cooperation between India and US in the ICTE sector. Thus creating new opportunities for US companies to set up operations in India, or make tie ups with Indian companies.
