Critical Tech Collaboration Promises to Transform Lives and Foster Economic Growth
In a landmark move, US Energy Secretary, Ms. Jennifer M. Granholm and Dr. Jitendra Singh, India’s Minister of Science & Technology, convened to strategize a bilateral partnership. In the wake of PM Narendra Modi’s US visit, they jointly launched a proposal initiative aimed at harnessing Quantum Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for societal transformation. The program, orchestrated by the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum and the USISTEF Secretariat, holds immense potential for economic development and addressing global challenges
The collaboration seeks to strengthen ties between US and Indian entities—startups, government bodies, academic institutions, or commercial ventures. Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that this competitive grant program will favor joint projects demonstrating applied R&D, viable business plans, and sustainable commercial potential. He added, “This move underlines our commitment to a comprehensive and strategic partnership, following PM Narendra Modi’s US visit,”. He also “highlighted the new energy and direction this partnership brings to America-India relations in the AI era. With a focus on AI and Quantum Technologies, the alliance offers promising avenues for future technological advancements.
Both countries welcomed the launch of a $ 2 million grant program under the US-India. This program focuses on the mutual development and commercialization of AI and Quantum Tech. It also pushes for public-private partnerships to develop high-performance computing in India.
“The investments in AI and quantum technology will lead to transformative advances impacting healthcare, agriculture, climate change, and more, thereby enhancing our social well-being,” Dr. Singh added. He emphasized the endowment fund’s transformative potential.
