- Top issuers of power plant tenders globally included Solar Energy Corporation of India with capacity of 3,000MW from four tenders
- Solar accounted for 216 tenders with a 73.7 per cent share
According to a report by the Economic Times, India took the lead position in tenders for power generation capacity globally during the quarter ending 31st December. The report also said that top issuers of power plant tenders globally for the quarter in terms of power capacity included Solar Energy Corporation of India with capacity of 3,000MW from four tenders, Northern Indiana Public Service in the United States for 2,600MW from two tenders. It also included NTPC at 2,514 MW capacity from nine tenders.
Asia-Pacific took the top spot
The report also said that in the power plant segment, Asia-Pacific took the top spot with 209 tenders. It captured a share of 71.8 per cent during the quarter ending on 31st December. It is followed by Europe with 36 tenders and a 12.4 per cent share and Middle East and Africa with 29 tenders and a 10 per cent share.
According to the report, solar accounted for 216 tenders with a 73.7 per cent share, followed by thermal with 33 tenders with 11.3 per cent share. Hydro took the third spot with 20 tenders and a 6.8 per cent share.
